Thank you for the members who have renewed their annual membership dues and we have one new member this year. Welcome Ross St John.
We haven't had any PWCA group rides per se but members have been enjoying the waters since April. Members Tabb Thoms & his girlfriend Jacque Graham have over 2000 miles on riding in Alaska and California since April.
This past weekend, Tabb, Jacque and Jim Patton rode from the Port of Homer to Kodiak. As of this posting they are waiting for a break in the weather to finish the ride back. Tabb contacted all the authorities to get permission to leave out of Homer. Advised them they were staying in the Federal shipping lanes through the bay and they couldn't be denied access! Way to go Tabb. More about all that later!
Don't forget to email me photos of your current rides so I can upload the on our photo page.
We had a good turn out for Challenge AK Summer Splash on Saturday June 25th. I hope to post some pictures soon of that. Plus pictures from the epic Homer to Kodiak round trip.
Here's a good one to check out: www.marineadvisory.org/recreation
For the pwc race enthusiast I've added this website to the link page as well: Prowatercross
DURING OUR TRIP TO CORDOVA FROM WHITTIER IN 2014 WE RAN IN TO THE SUMMER CREW OF ONE OF THE FAMOUS DEADLIEST CATCH BOATS. BEING A HUGE FAN I HAD TO HAVE MY PICTURE TAKEN. THIS WAS AFTER I GOT TO TALK TO JAKE. I WASN'T SMART ENOUGH TO HAVE MY PICTURE TAKEN WITH JAKE IN THE BACKGROUND. (ME-GINA ON THE LEFT AND JAN DURRINGTON ON THE RIGHT) HAD WE KNOWN THE BOAT WAS IN EARLIER I WOULD HAVE BEGGED FOR A TOUR BUT THEY JUST FINISHED FUELING AND WERE ON THEIR WAY OUT.
If you want to contact members of Juneau PWCA you can send them an email at firstname.lastname@example.org We added some of their photos to the photo page.
