WHITTIER

WITH DEB KROOK

Deb is from Minnesota and she took a cruise to Alaska in August.  Before coming on her cruise she contacted PWCA and asked about pwc'ing in AK.  Since  the cruise ship didn't offer any excursions for pwc'ing, three of our club members were able to accommodate her request.  We had an awesome beautiful ride out of Whittier.  We took her to beautiful Blackstone Bay to view several glaciers than over to Esther Island and Lake Bay to a Pink Salmon hatchery.

2014 Big SU and Flathorn Lake

Beautiful sunny weekend and Mount McKinley aka Denali was out as well as neighboring Mt. Foraker.  Of course always a beautiful sunset over Sleeping Lady aka Mt. Susitna.

2014- new photos from Aug 10 trip Whittier to Deep Water Bay, white sand beach-covered in water from one of the highest tides I've seen there.  Day started out foggy & rainy but by 3pm the clouds lifted nicely and stopped raining.  Took new members Tabb & Kory on their first pwc ocean ride. Flat water for them. Plus member Thom who hadn't been on the ocean for about 10 years due to a broken wrist.  He had his old 2 stroke Yamaha racing machine.  Still the fastest one out there even though he had a couple of mechanical issues to deal with!
